Japanese Crochet Hook Sizes

Posted by: zammy on: May 26, 2009

I was really having trouble with American crochet patterns because I use Japanese crochet hooks. I can’t really figure out which Japanese hook size corresponds to the American hook size. Anyway, I googled ‘japanese crochet hook size chart’ and I found this blog post from snuffykin which is really, really helpful because she translated the recommended Japanese hooks for different weights of yarn found in the Gosyo yarn company site to English and found a chart on Japanese hook sizes and diameters. Yey! Really, really need this because I’m making a list of all the hooks I still need to buy, and I found out that I don’t really need to buy a lot more since I have all of the workable sizes…

Anyway, I’m posting the charts here so I won’t have to google it up again or bookmark it. XD
